MEET ALYSSA

I moved to Denver in March 2016 from Manhattan. After living there for 7 years, I decided to switch out the concrete jungle for the beautiful Rocky Mountains. I was a nanny for 5 years in NYC from after graduating from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy for Musical Theatre in 2010. I have extensive knowledge as a caregiver from my work as a household manager/nanny in NYC and Denver.
I have worked with infants up to pre-teen age and enjoy engaging in creative play, crafts, and outdoor activities. I also have work experience assisting young children and teens receiving inpatient and outpatient care for behavioral health diagnoses. I believe that fostering emotional intelligence is vital to children's growth and development. Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood!) is my idol and I try to respond to daily life, especially when with children, as he would.
One of my favorite memories as a nanny is taking the children in my care to the Nature and Science Museum. The three children were amazed by the dioramas and all of the activities in the halls. After the museum, we had a picnic in City Park and talked about our favorite animal facts we had learned from the day. Caring for children is something I'm truly passionate about, and I find that aiding in the development of curious minds is an incredibly rewarding experience.
Other facts about me...I graduated from MSU Denver in 2020 with a B.S. in Psychology and Minor in Human Development and Family Studies. I was accepted to graduate school and am currently working toward my Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.

“Alyssa is fabulous, she was with us for over a year when my children were 2 and 4. The only reason she is not with us now was her relocation to Colorado from New York (our home). We live on the upper east side in Manhattan so very busy area, high traffic metro area with a lot of walking, crossing the street safely with my 2 and 4 year old. She also transported them from preschool and to activities, and traveled with us during the summer, and we had full trust in her for all of that. She really loves her work with children. As a parent we know kids can be tiring, and I will never forget how Alyssa always showed up with a smile on her face, always ready for the day with my children.” - Sally T.
