MEET MARIANNE

Provider
Hi! I am Marianne and I have many years of childcare and youth education experience through both family/friends and paid professional positions. I also hold a graduate degree in Environmental Justice and Policy which I completed at CU and I work in this field for the state of Colorado.
I began babysitting locally in my neighborhood and church nursery in Miami, Florida, when I was about 14 years old. I have experience with babies, toddlers, youth and teenagers. I am fully comfortable with diapering, bottles, nap times etc. During the summers of 2014 to 2017, I was a summer teacher for a learning extension program. I taught and supervised a classroom of students from first to 5th grade. I developed my own curriculum of "Environmental Stewardship" and taught students about the importance of respecting and caring for of our environment. From 2013 to 2016, I was an after school caregiver/nanny to a wonderful teenage girl, providing supervision, transport, fun activities and homework help. In 2020, I was an instructor for a Boulder summer camp program here in Boulder, Colorado. I was a "Learn to Bike" instructor for 3-9 year olds. Part of our program included teaching children about outdoor safety and awareness as well. It was so much fun!
Other fun facts about me...I am from Miami, FL with Peruvian roots. I speak Spanish. I love working in environmental stewardship in our Boulder community. I also enjoy practicing at local fitness and wellness studio that offers a movement practice which combines martial arts, strength training, play and games. It has really helped me develop bodily awareness, movement skills and strength! I also love expressing myself through painting/drawing and dancing.

WHAT PARENTS and EMPLOYERS SAY
"I manage the summer programs in Boulder and Marianne worked with us for our Summer 2021 session. She primarily worked with campers between the age of 3-4 to age 7, and provided instruction for her campers in biking and stand up paddle boarding. This included teaching campers' hard skills such as braking, paddle strokes, etc. as well as creating community and managing her campers. Some additional tasks she did were additional cleaning to facilitate a safe camp environment during a pandemic. Marianne's work performance was phenomenal. Parents provided nothing but great feedback about the skills their children were learning with Marianne as well as her professionalism and ability to share in depth details about their children's days. She was reliable.,on time and was someone who I felt could be given a task and would get it done well right away. I would absolutely recommend Marianne to work with children and families. She will do a great job." Brittany S.
"I managed the summer youth learning programs in Miami. Marianne was my employee for two summers and was with the program for four years. She taught a variety of enrichment classes in the afternoons for students in grades K-4. She was responsible for creating and planning her enrichment classes, behavior management, assisting with lunch/recess duties, communicating with parents, and attending field trips with all the supervisory duties of full time teachers. Marianne is very pleasant to work with, upbeat, energetic, and passionate about working with kids. She also gets along really well with her coworkers. Marianne was consistently on time and offered extra assistance when needed. I would fully recommend Marianne to parents and families." Mary P.
