I am highly attentive to kids and their needs, I believe children have to be heard and understood in order to build a strong connection with them. My goal is to have an open and trustworthy relationship with families so that children feel comfortable coming to me with anything they need. I am a creative person who loves to make arts and crafts, along with playing any kind of sport! I love all kinds of music and find it to be a fun way to express yourself with some dance moves!
I have experience with children from ages 6 months to 12 years old. I was a camp counselor for a summer (around 50 children ages 4-12), a nanny for a family in Denver (two kids, ages 5 & 6), and a nanny for a 4 year old with a 13 month old sibling, and a temporary nanny for a family with a 1 year old boy and a 3.5 year old girl. I am experienced with putting babies/toddlers down for naps, giving bottles and cleaning bottles, and practicing tummy time. I have cared for children who are potty training, and I have handled transport and pickup for after school activities for older kids. I volunteered at an elementary school during my junior and senior year as a teacher's classroom assistant. I also have a large family and caring for young children of my family members has always been a part of my life.

Fun facts about me... I am a sports lover! I played soccer competitively for 15 years. I enjoy doing any sort of activities that challenge your brain and make your body move! In high school, I led a Make-a-Wish Fundraiser for a close friend's sibling and raised enough for her wish and enough for 3 other kids! In addition to English I speak fluent Spanish and American Sign Language. I am a student at CU.

WHAT PARENTS SAY
“Sofia has been caring for our little boy for over three years, from the time he was about to turn 4 years old. He is 7 now. It has been such a good experience with Sofia. She helped us as his sitter consistently a few days a wk, and would also do full time on the holiday weeks when he was out of school. They do activities together, she was very active with him and she was also responsible for driving him. He can be a ‘handful’ as they say, and she is always consistently so caring, loving and patient. He absolutely loves her. She really cares, and she’s got the grace for being with children. I am very selective about who I allow to care for our little guy, I am very quick to move on if I do not think someone is the right fit, and Sofia is one that I would absolutely recommend to any parent.” - Carol P.
“I supervised Sofia during her time as a summer camp counselor with the day camp for ages 5-13, near Vail, CO. Sofia helped to organize the day camp activities and field trips, getting kids ready for their day, ensuring everything was prepped for field trips, and of course monitoring the children's safety and well being throughout the day. Some of the activities she led and supervised included crafts, swimming, tennis, hiking, golf and other sports. Sofia supervised about 6 to 7 kids at a time. She was on time and dependable, and she took on leadership roles and tasks very readily. Something you notice about Sofia is that she is very respectful and courteous, and you will also notice that she is very attentive to children and truly cares about their needs. I would definitely recommend her.” - Cynthia B.
